Regular Season Round 10: Neptunas - Siauliai 70-68

The game had a very big importance for Neptunas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Neptunas edged 7th ranked Siauliai in Klaipeda 70-68. Siauliai trailed by 14 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 26-11 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 68-70 at the end of the game. Neptunas made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Martynas Mazeika (193-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) replied with 24 points and power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Siauliai. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Siauliai lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Siauliai will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Neptunas will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Zalgiris in Kaunas.
