Regular Season Round 4: Akhisar Bld - Istanbul DSI 67-63
Date: October 29, 2014
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Akhisar Bld (3-1) beat at home 12th ranked Istanbul DSI (1-3) 67-63 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 16-5 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Akhisar Bld dominated on the defensive end, holding Istanbul DSI to just 5 points in fourth quarter. The winners were led by point guard Erdem Ilter (188-90, agency: Ali Guney BA) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 assists and American guard Rian Pearson (193-90, college: Toledo) supported him with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Akhisar Bld's coach Zafer Aktas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for Istanbul DSI. Czech Kamil Svrdlik (205-86, college: Fair Dickinson) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Akhisar Bld moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Istanbul DSI lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Akhisar Bld will meet Adanaspor on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul DSI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena ITU Istanbul.
