Regular Season Round 5: Aalborg - Bakken 97-122

Ligaen top team - Bakken (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Aalborg (0-5) 122-97. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Aalborg was better in fourth quarter 34-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aalborg 46-30 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bakken shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Aalborg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and international swingman Thomas Laerke (195-91) chipped in 18 points. Nigerian point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with 33 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals and American forward Brandon Bjerre (195-92, college: Erskine) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bakken have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Aalborg at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Horsholm. Bakken will play against Wolfpack (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Aalborg will play on the road against Horsholm (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
