Regular Season Round 9: Perlas-MRU - Delikatesas 76-83

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Perlas-MRU (7-2) in Vilnius on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Delikatesas (5-4) 83-76. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. Perlas-MRU trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-83 at the end of the game. It was a good game for forward Benas Bagdonavicius (202-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Zilvinas Petraitis (194-88) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Delikatesas players scored in double figures. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) answered with 20 points and 5 steals and guard Dominykas Domarkas (188-92) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Perlas-MRU. Delikatesas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Perlas-MRU at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Delikatesas is looking forward to face higher ranked Petrochema (#4) in Jonava in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Perlas-MRU will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
