Regular Season Round 10: Ezerunas-Karys - Perlas-MRU 93-91

There was a change at the NKL leadership position after last games. Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Perlas-MRU (7-3). They were edged by third ranked Ezerunas-Karys (7-3) 93-91 on Friday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 25-19 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Ezerunas-Karys had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Perlas-MRU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) scored 25 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Tomas Galeckas (185-94) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Perlas-MRU will play next round against Silute trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ezerunas-Karys will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Zanavykas in Sakiai.
