Regular Season Round 6: DniproAzot - BC Kyiv 71-52

DniproAzot can celebrate finally their first win this season after four consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat BC Kyiv (1-4) 71-52 on Friday. The game without a history. DniproAzot led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BC Kyiv's 26. DniproAzot looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Vladyslav Kondratyev (203-90, college: Bryant) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Eugene Harris (188-86, college: High Point, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 12 points and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DniproAzot left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with BC Kyiv and Hoverla. It was BC Kyiv's third loss in a row. DniproAzot will meet at home higher ranked Budivelnyk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BC Kyiv will play against Dnipro in Dnepropetrovsk and hope to win that game.
