Regular Season Round 6: Dnipro - Budivelnyk 70-72

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Superleague took place in Dnepropetrovsk. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Dnipro (3-2) to sixth ranked Budivelnyk (3-2) 72-70 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dnipro. Dnipro trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 19-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-72 at the end of the game. Budivelnyk looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by Dnipro helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (216-84) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and international Olexandr Mishula (192-92) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Dnipro. Budivelnyk is looking forward to face DniproAzot in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round where they are favorite. Dnipro will play at home against BC Kyiv and is hoping to win this game.
