Regular Season Round 6: Aistes-LSU - Suduva 46-70

LMKL top team - Suduva (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Aistes-LSU (3-3) in Kaunas 70-46. The game was mostly controlled by Suduva. Aistes-LSU managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Aistes-LSU to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Suduva dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Aistes-LSU's 26. Suduva forced 25 Aistes-LSU turnovers. The former international power forward Iveta Salkauske (197-82, college: Illinois) notched 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Santa Okockyte (175-92) supported her with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Suduva players scored in double figures. Coach Rimvydas Samulenas's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 6 points and 18 rebounds by international power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) did not help to save the game for Aistes-LSU. Forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) added 13 points and 4 steals. Suduva have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Utena. Aistes-LSU at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kibirkstis-VICI. Suduva will meet at home league's second-placed Utena in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aistes-LSU will play against Fortuna in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
