Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Istanbul DSI and 14th ranked ITU Istanbul had identical 1-3 record. But ITU Istanbul was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Istanbul 81-63 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul DSI. ITU Istanbul was better in second period 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Istanbul DSI made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Istanbul DSI outrebounded ITU Istanbul 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Istanbul DSI especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Bulgarian forward Musa Gunes (200-85) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Istanbul DSI's coach Ali Burgul used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Murat Erensoy (202-91) scored 14 points. Istanbul DSI (2-3) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Adanaspor and Final Genclik. ITU Istanbul lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with four games lost. Istanbul DSI will face Adanaspor (#10) at home in the next round. ITU Istanbul will play against Gelisim in Izmir and hope to win that game.
