Regular Season Round 6: Barmer TV - Osnabruck 61-63

Date: November 1, 2014
An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 3rd ranked Barmer TV in a game in Wuppertal versus Osnabruck (#2) 63-61. It was a key game for the top position in North. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Barmer TV won third quarter 19-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Melina Knopp (171-94) notched 24 points to lead the effort and power forward Britta Worms (188-88) supported her with 13 points. Osnabruck's coach Christian Kaiser used entire bench in such tough game. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by power forward Mona Ehlert (181-88) did not help to save the game for Barmer TV. point guard Franziska Goessmann (170-89) added 15 points. Four Barmer TV players scored in double figures. Osnabruck (5-1) keeps a position of North leader. Newly promoted Barmer TV dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Osnabruck will meet at home Hagen Phoenix (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barmer TV will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#6) and hope to secure a win.
