Regular Season Round 7: Art.Dragons - Fraport SKY 83-74

Date: November 1, 2014
Not a big story in a game in Quakenbrueck where 16th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (1-6) were defeated by sixth ranked Artland Dragons (5-2) 83-74. Deutsche Bank Skyliners were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Artland Dragons shot 61.7 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Artland Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach Tyron McCoy used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) came up with 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) added 15 points respectively for Deutsche Bank Skyliners in the defeat. Artland Dragons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with MBC. Deutsche Bank Skyliners lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with six games lost. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be Crailsheim Merlins (#16) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against TBB Trier and hope to win that game.
