Regular Season Round 7: MBC - Brose Bask. 71-84

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Brose Baskets' (6-1) road victory over Mitteldeutscher BC (#5) 84-71 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mitteldeutscher BC. The game without a history. Brose Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Mitteldeutscher BC's 30. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) chipped in 18 points. Five Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) produced 16 points and center Kristian Kuhn (208-87, college: N.Arizona) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with B.Muenchen and EWE Baskets. Mitteldeutscher BC at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons. Brose Baskets is looking forward to face Telekom Baskets (#8) in Bonn in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mitteldeutscher BC will play on the road against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
