Regular Season Round 8: ETB Wohnbau - Hamburg 76-69

An interesting game for ETB Wohnbau (6-2) which hosted in Essen one of their biggest challengers Hamburg (5-3). Second ranked ETB Wohnbau managed to get a 7-point victory 76-69. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. ETB Wohnbau made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Hamburg turnovers. Hamburg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and Marques Oliver (201-91, college: Delaware St.) who added 8 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Will Barnes (185-88, college: Lee) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Hamburg's coach Hamed Attarbashi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ETB Wohnbau maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader s.Oliver Baskets. Newly promoted Hamburg keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. ETB Wohnbau will play against Baunach (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hamburg will play against Nuernberg (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
