Regular Season Round 7: Dnipro - BC Kyiv 76-56

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Dnipro (4-2) crushed 10th ranked BC Kyiv (1-5) in Dnepropetrovsk 76-56 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Dnipro's pressure prevailed and they won that period 20-7 extending their advantage to 20 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Kyiv to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Dnipro forced 19 BC Kyiv turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dnipro made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Andrei Malysh (203-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) added 21 points respectively for BC Kyiv in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dnipro maintains third place with 4-2 record having four points less than leader Khimik, which they share with Mykolaiv and Budivelnyk. BC Kyiv lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with DniproAzot. Dnipro will meet league's second-placed Cherkasy on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
