Regular Season Round 7: Aalborg - Naestved 73-93

Bottom-ranked Aalborg (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 93-73 loss to fifth ranked Naestved (4-3) in Aalborg on Thursday evening. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Aalborg's 44. They outrebounded Aalborg 53-22 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naestved looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Eric McAlister (204-90, college: Stony Brook) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian guard Milan Stanojevic (183-86, college: E.Washington, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 14 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerian point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with 23 points and guard Niels Andreasen (192-92) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Naestved maintains fifth place with 4-3 record, which they share with Randers. Aalborg lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Naestved will meet at home Randers (#6) in the next round. Aalborg will play against SISU (#7) in Copenhagen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
