There was no surprise when 13th ranked Silute (3-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Perlas-MRU (8-3) 66-61 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 39-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU forced 19 Silute turnovers. Strangely Silute outrebounded Perlas-MRU 43-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Antanas Udras (203-92) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Dominykas Domarkas (188-92) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Nerijus Anglickis (214-90) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and center Edgaras Sosnovskis (205-91) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Perlas-MRU keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Loser Silute keeps the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Perlas-MRU will face Suduva-Mantinga (#4) in Marijampole in the next round. Silute will play on the road against Zalgiris II (#8) in Kaunas and hope to win that game.
