Regular Season Round 7: Bochum - Leipzig 83-82

There was a surprise result in Bochum where ninth ranked AstroStars (4-4) edged 4th placed USC Leipzig (5-4) 83-82 on Friday. American Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import guard Jimmy Sherburne (191-91, college: Princeton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Sherburne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Honduran guard Christopher Flores (188-90, college: NJIT) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and American center Khalil Kelley (203-91, college: Pacific) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. AstroStars moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with Recklinghausen. USC Leipzig at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. AstroStars will face league's leader SC Rist Wedel at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Leipzig will play against Titans (#13) in Dresden and hope to win that game.
