Regular Season Round 8: Cherkasy - Dnipro 74-69

But then Cherkasy had a 18-11 second period charge getting the lead and Dnipro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-74. The winners were led by center Igor Chumakov (208-90) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds and British power forward Ashley Hamilton (201-88, college: Loyola Mary) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) did not help to save the game for Dnipro. International Olexandr Mishula (192-92) added 14 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cherkasy have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record having just three points less than leader Khimik. Dnipro at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Ferro-ZNTU. Cherkasy will play against Budivelnyk (#3) in Kyiv in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dnipro will have a break next round.
