Regular Season Round 7: Dragons - Speyer 91-70

Date: November 8, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Speyer (1-6) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (5-2) 91-70 on Saturday. Dragons Rhoendorf looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Speyer's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragons Rhoendorf made 8 blocks. Slovenian-Montenegrin guard Savo Milovic (194-86) fired 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Fabian Thuelig (199-89) chipped in 14 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Five Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Dragons Rhoendorf's coach Boris Kaminski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American Marcus Smallwood (200-82, college: N.Illinois, agency: R.H.Consultancy) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 22 rebounds and swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Dragons Rhoendorf moved-up to second place in Group South, which they share with 3 other teams. Speyer lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf will face league's second-placed Wuerzburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Speyer will play against the league's leader Iserlohn (#1) and hope to win that game.
