Regular Season Round 7: Neuss - Braunschweig 91-63

Date: November 8, 2014
Braunschweig (#4) was upset in Neuss by seventh ranked TG Neuss 91-63. It was a key game for the second position in North. The game without a history. TG Neuss led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They were well out of reach of Braunschweig shooting 73.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for TG Neuss especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 blocks (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Swingman Nicole Egert (178) contributed with 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. TG Neuss' coach Janina Pils felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Sade Jackson (177, college: Adelphi) answered with 17 points and the other American import center Brittany Obi-Tabot (185, college: Fairfield) added 13 points in the effort for Braunschweig. The victory was the third consecutive win for TG Neuss. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Wolfenbuettel and Opladen. Braunschweig at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. TG Neuss' next round opponent will be Baskets Grunberg (#9) in Gruenberg and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play at home against the league's leader Osnabruck (#1) and hope to win that game.
