Regular Season Round 7: Trier - Rhein MB II 57-73

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Rhein MB II (3-4) won against on the road bottom-ranked Trier (0-7) 73-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rhein MB II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rhein MB II outrebounded Trier 49-37 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Alexandra Chili (183, college: Muhlenberg) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Mara Greunke (186-91) helped adding 12 points and 16 rebounds. Four Rhein MB II players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Leonie Edringer (182-95) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Iris Jodes (179) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Trier's coach Michael Edringer rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rhein MB II. They moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Weiterstadt. Trier lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Rhein MB II will face higher ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trier will play against Weiterstadt (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
