Very important is a road loss of second ranked Herner TC (6-2) against twelfth ranked Bad Aibling (1-7) on Saturday night. Visiting Herner TC was defeated by Bad Aibling in a tough game in Bad Aibling 66-70. Herner TC was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 41-31 second half run of Bad Aibling. They also forced 22 Herner TC turnovers. American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Bad Aibling players scored in double figures. American point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) replied with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and her fellow American import power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Newly promoted Bad Aibling maintains twelfth position with 1-7 record. Herner TC at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Saarlouis and Halle. Bad Aibling will play against higher ranked Oberhausen (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Herner TC will play against Rotenburg/Scheessel (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
