Regular Season Round 5: Chernomorets - Balkan 65-83

Bottom-ranked Chernomorets is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Balkan (3-2) 83-65 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Balkan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Chernomorets' players. The former international Pavel Marinov (199-88, agency: Interperformances) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 17 points, 7 assists and 6 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Balkan's coach Aleksandar Todorov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian center Ilija Milutinovic (211-88, college: Oakland, agency: Global Sports Plaza) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Emil Binev (199-91) added 16 points respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. Balkan moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beroe. Loser Chernomorets still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Spartak Pleven. Balkan will meet at home higher ranked Cherno More in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chernomorets will play against Rilski in Samokov and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
