An interesting game took place in Kayseri, where higher ranked Meliksah (3-3) lost at home to sixteenth ranked Mamak DSI (2-4) 82-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 28-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Mamak DSI outrebounded Meliksah 33-17 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State) who scored 26 points. Center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mamak DSI players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) who recorded 18 points and point guard Leemire Goldwire (182-85, college: Charlotte, agency: Two Points) added 5 points and 10 assists respectively. Meliksah's coach Murat Askin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mamak DSI moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Meliksah keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Mamak DSI will face Pertevniyal (#16) in Istanbul in the next round where they are favorite.
