Regular Season Round 8: Ferro-ZNTU - BC Odessa 84-83

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Superleague took place in Zaporozhye. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked BC Odessa (3-4) to seventh ranked Ferro-ZNTU (4-3) 84-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Odessa. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Odessa won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded BC Odessa 43-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Mykola Vilkhovetskyi (191-88) who added 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. The former international point guard Klym Artamonov (186-93) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ferro-ZNTU and five BC Odessa players scored in double figures. BC Odessa's coach Oleg Yushkin tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dnipro. BC Odessa at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
