Regular Season Round 8: Crailsheim - Art.Dragons 85-103

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Artland Dragons (6-2) won against on the road 16th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (1-7) 103-85. It looked good early as Crailsheim Merlins took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Artland Dragons had a 32-23 second period charge getting the lead and Crailsheim Merlins were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-103. Artland Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Artland Dragons' coach Tyron McCoy used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Beo Basket) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Garrett Sim (185-90, college: Oregon) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Artland Dragons and five Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons moved-up to third place, which they share with Brose Bask. and B.Muenchen. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side dropped to the seventeenth position with seven games lost. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be EnBW Ludwigsburg (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Walter Tigers (#18) in Tuebingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
