Regular Season Round 9: Baunach - ETB Wohnbau 79-81

Important game to mention about took place in Baunach. Second ranked ETB Wohnbau (7-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 12th ranked Baunach (4-5) 81-79 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Baunach won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ETB Wohnbau players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and point guard Gary Johnson (188-82, college: Cent.Florida) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. Forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Baunach in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. ETB Wohnbau maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader s.Oliver Baskets. Baunach lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Vechta and Kirchheim. ETB Wohnbau will play against Giessen 46ers (#4) on the road in the next round. Baunach will play against Hamburg (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
