Very important is a road loss of third ranked Barmer TV (4-3) against sixth ranked Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (5-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Barmer TV was defeated by Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel in Wolfenbuettel 68-56. It was a key game for the second position in North. The game was mostly controlled by Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. Barmer TV was better in third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Barmer TV was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (184-90) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Chantal Neuwald (180-95) came up with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Slovakian Michaela Stankova (173-88) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Barmer TV in the defeat. Four Barmer TV players scored in double figures. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Neuss and Opladen. Barmer TV lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play against Hagen Phoenix (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barmer TV will play against Lichterfelde (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
