Regular Season Round 3: Dunav 8806 - Levski 76-48

Very important is a road loss of Levski (1-2) against Dunav 8806 (1-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Levski was crushed by Dunav 8806 in Ruse 76-48. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Levski to an opponent 22.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Levski 46-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. The former international Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) accounted for 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bozhkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Hristina Ivanova (183-89) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds and international Radostina Dimitrova (181-94) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Levski in the defeat. Dunav 8806 will meet Montana 2003 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski will play against Neftochimic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
