Regular Season Round 3: Ormanspor - Istanbul Univ. 76-79

A very close game took place in Ankara between Istanbul Universitesi and Ormanspor. Istanbul Universitesi (2-1) got a very close victory on the road over Ormanspor (0-3). Istanbul Universitesi managed to escape with a 3-point win 79-76 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ormanspor won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin Ana Dabovic (183-89) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Istanbul Universitesi will meet at home Canik Bld (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ormanspor will play against Osmaniye and hopes to get finally their first victory.
