Regular Season Round 10: Zepter Vienna - Furstenfeld 86-70

Bottom-ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (0-9) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to second ranked Zepter Vienna (8-2) 86-70. The game was mostly controlled by Zepter Vienna. Furstenfeld Panthers was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Zepter Vienna especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American forward Amin Stevens (201-90, college: Florida A&M) supported him with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Zepter Vienna players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists by Lithuanian center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Furstenfeld Panthers. Forward Toni Blazan (195-92) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Zepter Vienna have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gmunden. Furstenfeld Panthers at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Zepter Vienna will play against Arkadia Lions (#4) in Traiskirchen in the next round. Furstenfeld Panthers will play at home against Xion Dukes (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
