There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (2-6) beat 14th ranked TBB Trier (2-6) in Frankfurt 65-57. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TBB Trier won fourth quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Deutsche Bank Skyliners dominated on the defensive end, holding TBB Trier to just 7 points in third quarter. Deutsche Bank Skyliners forced 19 TBB Trier turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by TBB Trier helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian-Jamaican point guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (207-91, agency: LUMANI 10.7) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with TBB Trier and Phoenix Hagen. TBB Trier lost fourth consecutive game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners' next round opponent will be higher ranked Brose Baskets (#5) in Bamberg and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
