Undefeated leader Khimik delivered the eighth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Mykolaiv (5-3) 92-46 in Yuzhny. The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mykolaiv to just 5 points in fourth quarter. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 24 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Mykolaiv only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 37-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Mykolaiv's players. International power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international center Igor Zaytsev (210-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-90) with 4 points and 7 assists and forward Oleksandr Tsikaliuk (204-93) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Khimik.
