Regular Season Round 7: Muenchen B. - Weiterstadt 44-76

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Weiterstadt (3-4) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Muenchen B. (0-7) 76-44 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Weiterstadt. Muenchen B. was better in second period 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Muenchen B. to just 4 points in first quarter. Weiterstadt forced 29 Muenchen B. turnovers and outrebounded them 43-23 including a 25-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Heather Karner (180-86, college: Youngstown St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!). Elisabeth Beiter helped adding 10 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side Slovakian center Erika Horvathova (190-86) responded with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Ann-Kathrin Neumann (175) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Weiterstadt moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Rhein MB II. Muenchen B. lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Weiterstadt will face Trier (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Muenchen B. will play against Friendsfactory Germering and hopes to get finally their first victory.
