Regular Season Round 9: Herner - BG 89 Avides 75-58

Date: November 15, 2014
Very expected game when 7th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (4-5) lost on the road to third ranked Herner TC (7-2) 75-58. The game was mostly controlled by Herner TC. Rotenburg/Scheessel was better in third quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Herner TC made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Rotenburg/Scheessel turnovers. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quenese Davis (177-88, college: San Diego St.) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Her fellow American import power forward Teya Wright (185-89, college: Providence) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Laura Rahn (186-86) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Kierra Mallard (190-90, college: Texas Tech) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Herner TC moved-up to second place, which they share with Saarlouis. Rotenburg/Scheessel lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Herner TC's next round opponent will be TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against Oberhausen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
