Regular Season Round 8: Braunschweig - Osnabruck 64-71

Leader Osnabruck delivered the seventh victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Braunschweig (4-4) 71-64. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-6. But Braunschweig won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruck dominated on the defensive end, holding Braunschweig to just 6 points in first quarter. They also forced 23 Braunschweig turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) who scored that evening 13 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Britta Worms (188-88) supported her with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Osnabruck players scored in double figures. Osnabruck's coach Christian Kaiser let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by American guard Sade Jackson (177, college: Adelphi) did not help to save the game for Braunschweig. Her fellow American import center Brittany Obi-Tabot (185, college: Fairfield) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the hosts. Osnabruck have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 7-1 record. Braunschweig lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Osnabruck's next round opponent will be TG Neuss (#4) on the road. Braunschweig will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel and hope to win that game.
