Regular Season Round 7: Gediz - Meliksah 74-68

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Gediz (5-2) beat at home 8th ranked Meliksah (3-4) 74-68 on Saturday. Meliksah was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 28-15 charge of Gediz, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Polat Kocaoglu (205-79, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Gediz's coach Deniz Atak used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Hadi Dogan (200-86) added 22 points in the effort for Meliksah. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gediz. They moved-up to fifth place. Meliksah lost their third game in a row. Meliksah at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Gediz will face Pertevniyal (#12) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
