Regular Season Round 6: Turk Telekom - Tofas 94-75

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Tofas (2-4) was outscored by sixteenth ranked Turk Telekom (2-4) in Ankara 94-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 55-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Turk Telekom shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Tofas' players. It was a good game for American forward Josh Carter (200-88, college: Texas A&M) who led his team to a victory with 40 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) contributed with 14 points and 8 assists for the winners. American point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) replied with 20 points and international Samet Geyik (205-93) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tofas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turk Telekom moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Istanbul BSB and Tofas. Turk Telekom will face higher ranked Karsiyaka (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
