Regular Season Round 4: Levski - Neftochimic 73-102

The most shocking disappointment of round 4 in the NBL was a home defeat of 4th ranked Levski (1-3) by fifth ranked Neftochimic (2-2) who outscored them by 29 points 102-73. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 19-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-73. Neftochimic dominated on the defensive end, holding Levski to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Levski's 34 and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Levski 44-24 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Neftochimic looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Levski's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Lidia Milkova (192-70) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian forward Dragana Gobeljic (185-88) who added 24 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Neftochimic players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Hristina Ivanova (183-89) responded with 28 points (made all of her eleven free throws !!!) and international Radostina Dimitrova (181-94) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neftochimic moved-up to second place, which they share with Montana 2003 and Dunav 8806. Levski at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Rilski Sportist. Neftochimic is looking forward to face Montana 2003 (#4) at home in the next round. Levski will play against the league's leader Haskovo 2012 and is hoping to win this game.
