Bottom-ranked Craiova (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-52 loss to fourth ranked Alexandria (9-2) in Alexandria. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Alexandria led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Five Alexandria players scored in double figures. Coach Madalin Piperea's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Irina Bors (178-88) answered with 19 points and 4 assists and swingman Adina Pop (173-88) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Craiova. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Alexandria. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sf.Gheorghe and Alba Iulia. Craiova lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. Alexandria will play against Galati (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Craiova will play against Oradea (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
