Regular Season Round 9: Oberhausen - Bad Aibling 72-54

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Oberhausen (4-5) beat at home bottom-ranked Bad Aibling (1-8) 72-54. It looked good early as Bad Aibling took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Oberhausen had a 20-9 second period charge getting the lead and Bad Aibling was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-72. The best player for the winners was American forward Monique Reid (185-90, college: Louisville) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Lea Mersch (170-87) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Abbey Duinker (190-91) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Oberhausen moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Freiburg and BG 89 Avides. Newly promoted Bad Aibling stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Oberhausen's next round opponent will be Rotenburg/Scheessel (#7) on the road. Bad Aibling will play against SV Halle Lions (#4) and hope to win that game.
