Regular Season Round 8: Wuerzburg - Dragons 75-73

A very close game took place in Wuerzburg between Wuerzburg and Dragons Rhoendorf. Second ranked Wuerzburg (6-2) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (5-3). Wuerzburg managed to escape with a 2-point win 75-73 on Sunday evening. Wuerzburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Maximilian Ugrai (202-95) who scored that evening 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Constantin Ebert (185-96) supported him with 15 points and 7 assists. Even 15 points by swingman Tim Schonborn (191-90) did not help to save the game for Dragons Rhoendorf. Slovenian-Montenegrin guard Savo Milovic (194-86) added 14 points for the guests. Newly promoted Wuerzburg maintains second position in Group South with 6-2 record behind leader Iserlohn, which they share with Schwelm. Loser Dragons Rhoendorf dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Karlsruhe and Fraport SKY II. Wuerzburg will meet Weissenhorn Youngstars (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Dragons Rhoendorf will play against TV Langen and hope to secure a win.
