The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars' (4-4) home victory over 9th ranked Licher Basket (2-6) 91-62 on Sunday. American point guard Randal Holt (185-91, college: Kent St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 4 steals. Canadian guard Jordan Baker (201-91, college: Alberta) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) replied with 18 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import Andrae Nelson (201-91, college: Morehouse) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Licher Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Weissenhorn Youngstars moved-up to seventh place in Group South. Licher Basket lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. Weissenhorn Youngstars will face league's second-placed Wuerzburg at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Licher Basket will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#4) in Frankfurt and hope to win that game.
