The game in Mykolaiv was also quite interesting. Second ranked Budivelnyk (8-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Mykolaiv (5-4). Budivelnyk did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 65-48 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-48. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 22. The former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) notched 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Oleksandr Kolchenko (194-88, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) supported him with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Budivelnyk's coach Vitaliy Cherniy used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by forward Alexander Sizov (199-88) did not help to save the game for Mykolaiv. The former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-90) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Budivelnyk have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 8-2 record behind leader Khimik. Mykolaiv at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Dnipro. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mykolaiv will play against Cherkasy (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
