Regular Season Round 10: Bayreuth - Art.Dragons 79-85

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Artland Dragons (7-3) beat on the road 11th ranked BBC Bayreuth (4-6) 85-79 on Saturday. BBC Bayreuth was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Artland Dragons shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St., agency: Priority Sports) fired 19 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Cypriot power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Javon McCrea (201-92, college: Buffalo) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Brose Bask. Loser BBC Bayreuth dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Artland Dragons will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BBC Bayreuth will play against Phoenix Hagen and hope to win that game.
