Regular Season Round 16: Perlas-MRU - Palanga 85-75

Very predictable result in Vilnius where second ranked Perlas-MRU (12-4) beat 10th ranked Palanga (7-9) 85-75 on Saturday. Palanga was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 27-12 charge of Perlas-MRU, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU outrebounded Palanga 37-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Antanas Udras (203-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) who added 16 points and 7 assists during the contest. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Erikas Kubilius (192-95) responded with 21 points and American forward Caleb Sutton (198-90, college: Judson) scored 16 points. Perlas-MRU have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Palanga lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Perlas-MRU will meet at home Zanavykas (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Palanga will play against Zalgiris II (#10) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
