Regular Season Round 16: Silute - Vilniaus 95-90

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Vilniaus (4-10) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Silute (7-9) 95-90 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-90. Silute made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Vilniaus only scored nine points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Evaldas Saulys (196-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Jimmie Miles (188-84, college: Robert Morris) who added 21 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Miles is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) responded with 21 points and his fellow American import guard Andrew Fair (183-89, college: St.Francis, IL) scored 18 points. Four Vilniaus players scored in double figures. Silute moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Vilniaus lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Silute will meet at home bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Vilniaus will play against Petrochema in Jonava and hope to secure a win.
