Regular Season Round 10: EWE Baskets - Brose Bask. 78-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Oldenburg between third ranked Brose Baskets (7-3) and fourth ranked EWE Baskets (7-2) on Saturday night. Brose Baskets were defeated by EWE Baskets in a tough game on the road 73-78. Brose Baskets trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-78 at the end of the game. EWE Baskets made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for EWE Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: Long Beach St.) fired 26 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) chipped in 22 points. Guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) produced 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. EWE Baskets moved-up to third place, which they share with MBC. Brose Baskets at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons. EWE Baskets is looking forward to face league's leader ALBA Berlin at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brose Baskets will play against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#9) and are hoping to win this game.
