Very important is a home loss of second ranked Rostock EBC (7-3) against sixth ranked USC Leipzig (6-5) on Saturday night. Host Rostock EBC was defeated by USC Leipzig in Rostock 85-72. USC Leipzig looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Falko Theilig (180-92) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American-Honduran guard Christopher Flores (188-90, college: NJIT) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jarrell Crayton (200-90, college: Mont.St.-Billings) who recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Tim Vogt (181-90) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Rostock EBC's coach Sebastian Wild rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. USC Leipzig moved-up to fifth place in Group North. Newly promoted Rostock EBC still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Itzehoe and Rist Wedel. USC Leipzig will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rostock EBC will play against Itzehoe and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
