Regular Season Round 8: Istanbul DSI - Balikesir 70-82

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Istanbul DSI (2-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Balikesir (7-1) 82-70. The game was mostly controlled by Balikesir. Istanbul DSI was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-90, college: St.Bonaventure) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Czech Kamil Svrdlik (205-86, college: Fair Dickinson) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul DSI. Balikesir have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Buyukcekmece and Sakarya BSB. Istanbul DSI lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with six games lost. Balikesir's next round opponent will be Adanaspor (#8) at home and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul DSI will play against Afyon (#17) in Afyonkarahisar and hope to win that game.
